It's not been a great week, both in terms of my personal level-of-OCD-thoughts and general USAmerican angst getting more and more specific to my situation** , so I decided to make a little list of things that have been good, or making it worth it. This is what it feels like right now. (It's funny, don't worry).

  1. I had a really sweet moment playing with a kid for an hour or more, throwing a dice around and sharing my headphones. He was really cute and tactile and it was a genuine bright spot. And then, as a bonus, his grandparents (who were working nearby) gave me these absolutely amazing Ube Crinkle Cookies!
  2. One of my professors said that there was good news coming soon about the program, and while she couldn't share, she seemed genuinely excited.
  3. I just recieved The River Has Roots, my favorite author's first solo novel!
  4. A bunch of kickstarters I find really cool met their funding goals!
  5. My physical therapy is actually going pretty well this time around, and I just cleaned my room so it's super organized.
  6. A lovely friend who has a podcast mentioned me on the pod!
  7. I got to call with my badass tia who has decided to do three political actions a week.
  8. I just got a huge order of my favorite tea straight from the company. 100 bags of decaf of my favorite variety!
  9. I ordered a couple of really cool comics, and one of my professors let me look at his comics from Spain as well!
  10. I got several chapters ahead on preparing summaries and discussion questions for my book club.
  11. Ashley Johnson and Taliesin Jaffe of Critical Role announced a new podcast, the Wierd Kids, that I'm exited for, and the Exandria wrap up is next Thursday.

Honestly, even as I'm writing them they feel small in comparison to my anxiety, but hey. It's worth focusing on the good, even if they don't drown out the bad.And 11 things! That's a lot! I have nothing to complain about, haha.

(if you're not in the loop, here's a podcast I recomend about English as an official language and the language services EO repeal and here's a basic article on the student activism tweet )
